One advantage of my long commitment to adventure travel, is that I have a well established network of information and contacts. As a result, in deciding to review the many things adventure travelers are interested in, I was able to quickly establish a review crew. After a few calls and emails, I put together a team of 250 adventure travelers of all experience levels and from all regions of the country. I now would also like to welcome any of you who would like to join our crew, whether you are a die-hard adventure traveler or an occasional explorer.
When you decide to get closer to nature, you probably just head to your nearest National Park. But when it's time to take a big trip, I'm sure you'd like to know what park is most likely to offer the experience you desire. For that reason, I thought I would put together input from over 250 adventurers to discover the very best US National Parks to visit. Our reviewers considered everything from camping, hiking, driving, and recreational activities. Once these things were considered, I had them break their top 10 choices into four categories. Each was assigned points from 10 to 1. I then totalled the scores and came up with four category winners and an overall winner. I also ranked the next 14 runners up.
The categories I chose shouldn't be too surprising. These are the categories most similar polls choose, primarily because these are the things people want to know about parks. The categories are best trails, scenery, wildlife and solitude. They sounded like good categories for our review too.
